A: Lower, Warmer, Made for Songs

Bb is one of those keys you may not realise you need until you have it. Its lower, rounded voice is ideal for vocals, slow airs and flat-pitch traditional instruments.

Play a tune with your normal D fingering and it comes out in Bb, while familiar G fingering becomes Eb. That makes it especially useful when a singer or band wants to move away from standard session keys.

The Eb whistle does the opposite. It takes everything you already know and moves it up by a semitone. Your D fingering becomes Eb, your G fingering becomes Ab, with no relearning required.
