Compánach, meaning companion, is an exciting double album featuring traditional Irish music, song and dance from all the counties of Ireland. Each of the 32 counties is represented in tune or song!

Compánach moves alphabetically through the counties, taking the listener on an A-Z musical tour of the country. Disc 1 covers Antrim to Fermanagh, while Disc 2 tackles Galway to Wexford.

The album features a veritable who's who of Ireland's best traditional Irish musicians, singers and dancers.

Musicians Gerry O’Connor on fiddle, Fintan Vallely on Irish flute and Tiarnán Ó Duinnchinn on uilleann pipes are joined by vocalists Karan Casey, Máire Ní Choilm, Stéphanie Makem, Róisín White, Maurice Leyden and Roisín Chambers who also features on the fiddle.

This allstar lineup is joined by sean nós dancer Sibéal Davitt whose percussive footwork provides a driving, rhythmic accompaniment.

Featuring 30 tracks, this album boasts over two hours of music and also offers a wealth of information in the form of Fintan Vallely's carefully crafted sleeve notes.
