Fintan Vallely is one of the most prominent voices in traditional Irish music today and is praised as one of the greatest scholars of the Irish wooden flute.

Back to the Starry Lane is an exciting remastered, remixed and upgraded version of his 1992 album The Starry Lane to Monaghan.

Hear this brilliant album of traditional Irish and Scottish music as you've never heard it before. The track order has been rearranged for a new, balanced listening experience while retaining the original album's integrity.

Like its predecessor, Back to the Starry Lane offers an exciting selection of tunes - some you'll know and some you won't - from one of Ireland's leading flute players.

This is a collection of old and new, Irish and Scottish Traditional music - a personal selection of Fintan's reflecting his time playing music in Scotland in the 1980s. The music spans 18th century Scottish compositions to Irish dance tunes still commonly played today.

Vallely is joined on this album by American guitarist and fiddle player Mark Simos. Simos began his career playing rock music in LA before transcending into traditional Irish music and his unique accompaniment brings an American folk feel to the recording.
