Bouzoukis

The Irish bouzouki is an adaptation of the much older Greek bouzouki which is a type of long-necked lute of Turkish origin, popularised in Greece. The bouzouki has been a popular folk instrument in Ireland since the 1970s. A distinctly Irish style has developed featuring a flat back rather than the traditional round back of the Greek bouzouki.
