Aside from the aesthetically pleasing differences, F-hole mandolins will usually have a brighter shimmery tone with more volume and a sharper attack in comparison to their oval hole counterparts. As a result, F-hole mandolins tend to offer a more percussive sound.
However, the higher the craftsmanship is, the less differences in sound quality are.
Beautifully finished instrument. Once bridge was set up properly it played perfectly. Incredible detailed binding and fretboard. Nice tone and volume. Great value.
