Quality Build
The McNeela Virtuoso Violin features a bridge produced by the Aubert Lutherie in France. These French luthiers select the best quality maple wood and their bridges are treated with natural products which protect the wood and enhance its acoustic qualities.
Why Jujube?
Jujube, also referred to as 'red date' or the 'iron tree', is a species in the genus Ziziphus in the buckthorn family Rhamnaceae. As a tone wood, Jujube is characterised as a strong, dense, and highly durable wood. Aesthetically it is a particularly handsome wood, offering a fine texture and beautiful red hue when polished. Jujube is used in Korea, to craft the body of the traditional folk instrument, taepyeongso - a double reed wind instrument. Jujube and boxwood - when of a high quality - can be used interchangeably.
