The McNeela Grey Accordion is an entry-level accordion aimed at beginners. It’s a 21 button accordion that comes in grey or red, and is in the key of B/C.

All that means is that the outer row of buttons are in the key of B, and the ones on the inner row are in C.

While the 8-button bass layout follows the Paolo Soprani layout, as this compliments the B/C tuning and is the set up best suited for traditional Irish music.

It's small and lightweight so it's easier to play at louder volume, because you don't have to work as hard to move the bellows.

Plus, it has large, pearlescent buttons and a thumb-grooved fingerboard to make it easier to play.

I have received a beautiful B/C accordion and signed up for beginners lessons. These lessons are very helpful with learning all the notes plus the fingering. I’m still very slow but the instrument makes it sound good. This is encouraging for a slow-poke.

I’ve absolutely loved my McNeela Irish B/C Push Button accordion. It is a phenomenal instrument and even though it is a beginner's box it really does feel and play exceptionally well. The packaging was superb and kept my box safe all the way across the Atlantic. I’ve been wanting to pick up the Irish push button accordion for some time now. High price point and no local instructors always kept me from pursuing my interest but McNeela solved them both! This box is a great deal and came with a trail of their beginners online course. The course is very well done and the structure really lets you build confidence in your playing. I’m having a blast learning and I’ve almost finished learning my second tune. I’m sure I will try the intermediate class as well. Benny McCarthy’s teaching method and the additional materials the course provides you are all well worth it.

It amazingly arrived to regional Victoria, Australia within 2 weeks, in excellent condition, boxed and inside a great soft gig bag with zips and adjustable shoulder straps. The tone is rich and loud with a nice easy action. Benny McCarthy's lovely playing online on a similar model, and his recommendations finally convinced me to take up the box. I look forward to learning some tunes through the online masterclass and hope to one day join a session on my new accordion. I have been addicted to Irish music for the past 50 years but only now figure that this accordion suits my stage of life.. lightweight, easy to carry, has great sound and is a challenge to master.
