McNeela Premium Electric Violin

I am delighted with the quality of this instrument straight from the case. I have resumed playing after many tears to maintain flexibility in aging joints and to reduce stress on my wife’s ears. Reducing the bridge height has improved string height above the fingerboard and am satisfied by the resulting ease to fingering. I have found that the instrument is loud enough without headphones or amplification and have still to experiment with amplification.

My new McNeela Premium Electric Violin is an amazing find!!! It lives up to all the promises made in the McNeela website description. I got it primarily because it was touted to be very quiet when played unplugged for practicing, and it is very quiet, no mute required. Once the strings stretched and I started playing it daily, the violin easily stays in tune with only a slight adjustment using the fine-tuners is needed due to atmospheric changes. The red finish is beautiful, it feels balanced, and is very lightweight. I carved the bridge down a bit to lower the strings for a lower-action and I absolutely love playing this violin. My Bon Musica shoulder rest fits onto the unique plastic bouts perfectly, even though the violin comes with a wooden-carved rest. The case is very high-quality and it comes with everything needed to plug in(rosin/bow, cables/headphones) and play electrified. If you are thinking of buying one of these, just hit the button and put it in your cart, it's a real gem at a low-dollar price-point!
