This provides good balance and a good strike. Ideal for those who like to use both ends of the beater against the skin. It's grooved along the shaft for a comfortable grip which you can adjust according to what and how you're playing.

There are a lot of different shapes of beaters and most bodhrán players have a variety of bodhrán beaters. The type you use is all down to personal preference.
