This is an exceptional Bacon & Day Special Series Style No. 2, built by the Banjo Bacon Company in Groton, Connecticut around 1930. Bacon & Day Banjos are highly sought after and are renowned for their craftsmanship and exceptional build quality.
With a straight neck and low action, this banjo is incredibly comfortable to play, making it perfect for long bouts of session playing. With a deep rich overall tone; punchy bass on the G and D strings and strong clear tone on the A and E strings, it's perfectly suited for playing traditional Irish music.
This banjo has been well cared for and is offered in superb condition. Bacon & Day banjos are robust, long lasting instruments that hold their tune and tone well and can handle plenty of playing.
